Debra L. Royce

Managing Director, Client Accounting Services

Debra Royce has served in financial leadership roles at several Vermont organizations for the past 30 years bringing a focused approach to strategic financial management, risk mitigation, process development and process standardization. After starting her career with KPMG in Boston, she went on to lead the financial, administrative and operations side of the business for several Vermont companies. Most recently she served as the Vice President of Finance and Operations for Bogner of America.  Previously she served as the CFO for All Earth Renewables, and CFO, Treasurer and Controller for eight years at Revision Military where she helped lead the company grow from $25 million to $70 million in annual sales. Debra served as Controller with Ben and Jerry’s leading the ice cream company through the Unilever acquisition.

A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, she is a 2012 graduate of the Lake Champlain Chamber Excellence in Executive Leadership program.  Debra serves as the Treasurer for Vermont Information Technology Leaders where she sits on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. She has served on the Board of Directors of COTS for the last 10 years – five of those years as Treasurer.

Debra graduated cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Debra resides in North Hero, Vermont, with her fiancé, Terry Lambert. They have four daughters: Taryn, Michaela, Jasmyn and Deanna.

Elizabeth manages assurance engagements for a variety of non-public companies and not-for-profit organizations, with a concentration on not-for-profit organizations. Her not-for-profit experience includes audits of independent schools, colleges, and universities, as well as of human service, humanitarian, cultural, and religious organizations, and private foundations. In the course of this work, Elizabeth has planned, conducted, and supervised numerous single audits under Federal Uniform Guidance.

Prior to joining the firm in 2021, Elizabeth spent eight years in Accounting & Auditing with CBIZ MHM in Boston, Massachusetts, where she became a Principal in the Not-For-Profit and Education practice. Subsequently, she spent five years as Chief Financial Officer of a Massachusetts human services agency. As CFO, she oversaw all aspects of the fiscal function, including preparation for annual financial and Uniform Guidance, employee benefit plan, and regulatory agency audits. Elizabeth holds a Certificate in Accounting from Salem State University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Simmons University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College, all in Massachusetts.

Elizabeth is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Vermont Society of CPAs. She recently completed a term on the board of directors and as treasurer of Backyard Growers, a community organization promoting vegetable gardening in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and is a past treasurer and capital campaign co-chair of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Gloucester.

 

Matthew joined GFC’s expanding Client Accounting Services team in April of 2023 and supports clients in our full suite of accounting services, ranging from day-to-day transactional functions to advisory engagements to fractional accounting support. Prior to GFC, Matthew was a Senior Accountant and Financial Analyst at Washington County Mental Health Services in central Vermont where he worked closely with stakeholders to navigate the unique challenges of the healthcare system and not for profit world.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting, a Bachelor of Arts in economics as well as an M.B.A. in public accounting. He is an avid golfer who lives in Williston, Vt. Other than golfing, you can find him riding bikes, hiking, or skiing.

David brings over 15 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting to GFC and provides consulting and advisory support to organizations in a wide variety of industries. With a strong passion for technology and finding efficient solutions, he enjoys designing and implementing processes and procedures to help clients efficiently manage all aspects of the accounting cycle.

David has experience in a wide array of business sectors including insurance, banking, SAAS, and manufacturing. Prior to joining GFC in 2022, David held several accounting and finance roles with industry-leading organizations, Revision Military, Dealer.com, and OneCare Vermont.

David began his career with PwC’s Assurance Practice serving insurance and banking clients in the Northeast after earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Saint Michael’s College.

Kevin has over 30 years of experience providing organizations with expertise in both finance and information technology. He is an adept problem solver and works with clients to improve processes and maximize efficiencies. Kevin’s finance specialties include financial analysis, financial model building, budgeting and forecasting, and cost accounting. His information technology strengths center around ERP system implementations, system training and utilization, remote and on-site ERP system support, and the use of ERP systems to better understand the connection between operations/manufacturing and financial results.

Kevin joined GFC in 2022. His previous experience includes leadership and consulting roles  with industry-leading organizations including Revision Military, Seventh Generation and Ben and Jerry’s Homemade. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship from Babson College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Champlain College.

Michael has over 25 years of corporate finance and accounting experience, and supports clients in our full suite of accounting services ranging from day-to-day transactional functions to advisory engagements.  He specializes in providing short and long-term outsourced Controller and CFO services for organizations of all sizes, collaborating with clients to maximize efficiencies and identify opportunities. Michael provides strategic, actionable insights to help organizations improve profitability and attain their growth goals.  A seasoned leader and adept communicator, he is committed to providing focused solutions tailored to the unique needs of each of his clients.

Prior to joining GFC in 2022, Michael  served as COO/CFO for the Stern Center for Language and Learning. His previous experience also includes positions as Controller for Revision Military and Director of Finance for EMG3, LLC. Michael holds a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Rochester Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Providence College.
