VermontBiz and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce have named Gallagher, Flynn & Company as one of Vermont’s Best Places To Work for the 13th consecutive year. 

The statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Vermont, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce, and businesses. The 2024 Best Places to Work in Vermont list is made up of 65 companies.

The awards program was created in 2006 and is presented in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management, Vermont State Council, (VTSHRM) and the Vermont Department of Commerce and Community Development and Workforce Research Group.

Last year, the Lake Champlain Chamber named Gallagher, Flynn and Company (GFC) the 2023 Business of the Year, recognizing GFC’s outstanding record of growth in its employment, production, and operations along with its substantial history of success.

Gallagher, Flynn & Company has been named one of 2023’s Best Firms to Work For by Accounting Today. This is the fourth consecutive year that GFC has earned this award which recognizes top firms across the country that set the standard for being an employer of choice in the accounting profession.

GFC’s 2023 final ranking in the mid-sized firm category will be announced in September. The Accounting Today award continues a year of accolades for GFC as the firm was named the 2023 “Business of The Year” by the Lake Champlain Chamber in the spring.

Accounting firms across the United States annually enter Accounting Today’s two-part survey process to determine the Best Accounting Firms to Work For. Designed to identify, recognize and honor the best accounting employers, the two-part survey carefully evaluates each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. It also measures and weighs employee experience and satisfaction. The awards program is conducted in partnership with Best Companies Group.

Gallagher, Flynn & Company is pleased to have won the 2023 Best of Business (BOB) Award for Best Accounting Firm.  BOB awards are given to businesses that offer the best customer service and who go above and beyond, paying special attention to detail. A few GFC team members went to the Award ceremony at Hula to receive the award and congratulate all the other BOB Award winners.

Announced at the Chamber’s 112th Annual Dinner on April 13, the award honors businesses that exemplify the hard work and commitment necessary to succeed despite risks and challenges. One of the largest independent CPA and business consulting firms in northern New England, GFC has been in business for more than 60 years and a Lake Champlain Chamber member since the firm’s early years.

Firms from across the  United States entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Accounting Firms to Work For – an independent research-driven program from Best Companies Group which ranks companies based on established research methodology. This annual survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in the accounting profession.

The survey consists of two parts. The first part, worth approximately 25 % of the total score, evaluated each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part, worth approximately 75%, is an employee survey which measured employee experience and satisfaction. The combined scores determined the top firms and the final ranking.

The rankings of the 14th annual Accounting Today’s Best Accounting Firms to Work For were unveiled in the September issue of Accounting Today.

The Best Firms to Work For list, which is created by Accounting Today in partnership with Best Companies Group, are ranked based primarily on the results of anonymous employee surveys, as well as data on the firms’ employment, HR and benefits policies.

GFC was ranked 31st among 51 mid-sized accounting firms (50-249 employees) who were on the list.

Vermont Business Magazine (VBM) has announced its 2022 Best of Business (BOB) Award winners, and Gallagher, Flynn & Company, LLP (GFC) is honored to be named the “Best Accounting Firm” in Vermont for the second consecutive year.   

The BOB Awards recognize the best Vermont companies in more than 100 categories.  From January 1st to March 1st, VBM surveyed its readership and reported a record-breaking 68,000 votes this year.
